Dr Emma Husbands

Consultant in Palliative Medicine

Dr Emma Husbands graduated from University of Dundee in 2001 and after undertaking general medical training in Herefordshire, completed the West Midlands specialty training programme in Palliative Medicine. Emma took up a post as Consultant in Gloucestershire in 2010 and has worked across both hospital and community settings there ever since. She has a passion for ensuring equity of access to the service and overseen an expansion into non-cancer work with Gloucestershire Royal Hospital team routinely seeing more patients with a non-cancer diagnosis. In addition, she is developing services for young adults with complex disabilities and is a member of the national transition task force. Emma supports guideline/patient information development for both the MNDA and MD society. She is a question writer for the Specialty Certificate Examination and a member of the Board for the SCE. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and can often be found making a costume or two for her many surrogate nieces and nephews!
